Our number one philosophy as a family is to look after ourselves and one another, to eat well and motivate each other to stay fit. We hope you enjoy our page!
We are a family living in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, we are a multicultural family. Chris is half Italian and half Chinese and I am Italian. We are passionate about our roots and where we have come from. I love expressing myself through Food. My Inspiration has definately been my Grandmother and Mother. Growing up in an Italian Household I learnt from a young age about the importance of Fresh Homegrown Produce and the Value of being united at the Dinner Table with your loved one. Fast forward to 2017, I try to bring my memories, emotions and experiences into the way I cook. Our Style of eating is “Mediterranean” based, one that is rich in healthy unrefined grains, legumes, vegetables, fish and dairy. We are not huge meat eaters, however we enjoy them as part of an overall balanced diet.
“Our motto in life is simple: What happened in the past shouldn’t affect today and more importantly what happens today, is not tomorrow. We should never let negative thoughts about what we didn’t do, what we didn’t eat affect our future. Every morning we have a new opportunity to make the day how we want it to be. Remember that ultimately we cannot control other people’s actions or words, however we can control our thoughts and reactions. Never doubt the impact that positive thoughts and rational thinking combined can have in your life. You are certainly stronger than you think you are”
My Husband Chris works as a full-time instructor and leads the team at JAI Martial Arts along with his parents. Originally a Primary and High School trained teacher, Chris started his Martial Arts Journey at the age of 4. Between him and his Father they have a combined amount of over 50 years of experience working with Children – and to this date are still actively involved on and off the mats and love it like that.
I started my teaching journey a few years ago when I noticed we were not offering a program to Toddler’s and Preschoolers. Having done some research, I found a great Martial Art School in the US that developed a program called “KinderKicks” – a Martial Arts based Life Skills and Fitness curriculum for Newborns through to Preschoolers. We brought it down here to Sydney and for the past 4 years I have been running these classes. In addition to this I am also a qualified Personal Trainer, and I love to learn Muay Thai from my husband. I love focusing on children’s health and fitness and I believe that getting Kids to develop a love for exercise and martial arts is imperative for their growth and development.
We look forward to sharing our thoughts, concepts and parenting ideas with you all for a different take on Life… the uncomplicated way!
